At Frontlight, we work hard to get you the best insurance coverage at the best rates. When it’s time to celebrate, we play just as hard as we work.
We got the Frontlight family together for a sunny day at the LA Memorial Stadium at the September 15 Rams v. Saints game, our annual tailgating tradition. We even brought along some of our youngest insurance brokers (still in training)!
When we’re not repping your home, car, or business, we’re repping our hometeam. We’re serious about your insurance, but we’re also serious about family, fun, and football.
It was a day of snacks, cornhole, conversation, and camaraderie leading up to a sweeping Rams victory going 27 to 9 in the 4th quarter.
We got to see the Rams kick off their second season going 2-0, a perfect start to 2019.
The Saints were out for blood this year after losing last season’s NFC game against the Rams. Despite their best efforts, they were no match for the boys in blue and yellow, who defended their home turf and emerged victorious.
A lucky break for the Rams came early in the first quarter when Saints quarterback Drew Brees injured his hand, taking him out for the rest of the game.
Teddy Bridgewater took over for Brees but his snaps failed to score a single touchdown against the Rams, the third time the team failed to score a touchdown under coach Sean Payton.
In the first quarter, Rams took the ball with a lucky snatch by John Johnson. Jared Goff threw a bomb to Brandin Cooks, who sailed past the Saints’ defense, setting the Rams up for a 24-yard field goal put through by Greg Zuerlein.
In the second quarter, Bridgewater set the Saints up for a 34-yard field goal by Wil Lutz, tying it up 3-3. A missed call narrowly dodged a Saints a touchdown and a fumble by Jared Goff gave the ball back to the Saints.
With two minutes left until the half, the two teams took numerous time-outs. With three seconds left until the half, Zuerlein kicked a 22-yard field goal bringing the Rams up 6-3 at halftime over the Saints.
Wil Lutz put another pigskin through the posts for a 52-yard field goal in the second half, tying it up 6-6. Things were heating up.
With a kick from Zuerlein,
Todd Gurley, situated on the Saints’ 9 first-and-goal, took a 4-yard run into his first touchdown of the season, bringing it up 13-6 for the Rams.
In the third quarter, Goff threw a 2-yard pass received by Brandin Cooks, who slugged through the endzone, bringing it up 20-6 for the Rams at the end of the third quarter.
Lutz impressed again in the fourth quarter with a 42-yard field goal for the Saints, bringing it up 20-9 with Rams in the lead.
The play of the game came when Goff made a touchdown on a QB sneak late into the fourth quarter, a 1-yard run bringing the Rams up 27-9 over the Saints, stealing the game for LA with the home field advantage, finishing with 19-of-28 passing for 283 yards and a touchdown.
Rams fans went nuts, flags waving.
All in all, it was a great day for Frontlight, family, and fans.
